Ojibwe sophmore Tre Brun wants to read his graphic novels, hang out with his friend, get his crush to like him back, and play basketball. When his family suddenly loses his older brother to a car accident, Tre’s entire high school path and plans alter to fit expectations. Basketball at the reservation is taken very seriously and Tre has to navigate following his brothers footsteps on and off the court.
