CLOUDLIBRARY FOR KIDS
CloudLibrary is a downloadable audio and digital book service available to all RPL cardholders. Titles automatically expire, so there are no last-minute trips to the library or late fees. They can be read or listened to from the convenience of home, work, or a portable device. Updated recommendation lists are available for seasonal themes and new children’s fiction.

HOOPLA
Hoopla is a groundbreaking digital media service offered by RPL that allows users to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, eBooks, comics and TV shows to enjoy on the computer, tablet, or phone, and even the TV. Hoopla for Kids spotlights all their materials designed for younger audiences. After logging in, click on the word “Kids” to the right of the search bar to enter Kid’s mode.

NOVELISTK-8
NoveList K-8 is a database of book recommendations for kids from about kindergarten to eighth grade. It provides information about read-a-likes, complete series, reading levels, recommended reading lists, and resources for parents. Sign in with your library card and PIN, and then select NoveList K-8 from the list of databases.

RPL READ-A-LIKES
RPL librarians have created recommended reading lists based on popular YA series, such as Harry Potter, the Magic Treehouse, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

TUMBLEBOOK LIBRARY
TumbleBook Library is a curated database of children’s eBooks, designed specifically for kids three to six. It includes unique animated talking picture books, read-along chapter books, national geographic videos, and more. It’s great for children developing their reading skills.

DIGITAL STORYTIME

STORYLINE ONLINE
A children’s literacy website where celebrated actors read aloud children’s books to colorful illustrations. Each book includes supplemental curriculum designed to help with reading comprehension and written English skills.

RPL DIGITAL ONLINE
RPL Digital Storytime : Each of these fun story times are created and performed by a Rockford Public Library staff member who loves to share stories, songs, and fun. Storytime is best when shared!

WATCH AND LISTEN

FREEGAL
Freegal is a free music streaming service which offers 5 hours of streaming per week. It offers plenty of family-friendly music including Disney classics, Kidz Rock, and many more. It can be enjoyed on a computer browser as well as on mobile or tablet on the Freegal app.

KANOPY KIDS
A streaming service that offers diverse selection of educational and entertaining content, including movies, TV series, animated storybooks, live action features, and animated favorites. Kanopy Kids does not require any credits, and kids can watch unlimited content. After logging in, click on the word “Kids” to the top right of the screen to enter.

ABC MOUSE
A digital learning platform for children ages 2–8. Animated activities include math, science, art and colors, social studies, reading and writing, music, and more!

CREATIVEBUG
Creativebug provides unlimited access to thousands of online arts and crafts videos and classes, on both the web browser and the mobile app. Kids of all ages can create fun crafts, taught step by step.

CHILDREN’S RESOURCES AND ACTIVITIES PDF
PDF with a HUGE list of free activities for kids of all ages! Visit websites with daily activities, virtual museum tours, live animal cams from zoos all over the world, virtual story times, and more.

FIERO CODE
Fiero Code is a self-paced learn-to-code software program for kids ages 8-18. Through fun and engaging tutorials and projects, Fiero Code teaches kids coding languages ― such as HTML, CSS, Python and JavaScript ― that they can use to build their own websites, video games, apps, animations and more.

HOBBIES AND CRAFTS SOURCE
This database offers detailed “how-to” instructions and creative ideas to meet the interests of virtually every hobby enthusiast. Full text is provided from leading hobby and craft magazines.

MANGO LANGUAGES
Mango Languages is an online learning-language site, which focuses on learning through practical conversations. Over 70 languages are available.

EXPLORA FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS
Explora is EBSCO’s interface for schools and young learners. Designed to meet the unique needs of its users, Explora supports both student research and classroom instruction. It combines multiple research databases into one easy search.

FUNK & WAGNALLS NEW WORLD ENCYCLOPEDIA
An encyclopedia that provides access to over 25,000 records, including images and brief biographies, over an array of topics.

KHAN ACADEMY
Khan Academy is a freely available, non-profit learning academy that provides learning tools for students on a variety of subjects, often in the form of short instructional videos with complimentary exercises and materials. Khan Academy’s library of practices and lessons covers math K-12 through early college, grammar, science, history, AP®, SAT®, and more.

LITERARY REFERENCE PLUS
Literary Reference Plus is a rich full-text literary database covering all genres and time periods. It includes thousands of synopses, critical essays, book reviews, literary journals and author biographies, plus full-text classic novels, short stories, and poems.

SCIENCE REFERENCE SOURCE
Science Reference Source provides high quality videos and images as well as the full text for hundreds of science magazines, journals, and reference books. The database also contains science experiments and curriculum-aligned lesson plans.

WORLD BOOK KIDS
World Book Kids is an encyclopedia containing articles, multimedia content, games, and a collection of biographies, designed to encourage the young learner to be curious.
