The Rockford Public Library is proud to launch a new addition to their Mobile Library Services!

This smaller mobile library unit reaches more Rockford neighborhoods and venues where a smaller footprint makes all the difference. Inside the climate-controlled interior is a collection of books and other materials (English and Spanish) and high-speed Wi-Fi. The staff will be offering classes and events that feature early literacy demonstrations for parents and caregivers, storytimes both in English and Bilingual and other classes for adults.

Visitors will be able to register for a library card, check out materials, place and pick up holds- everything you can do in a brick and mortar building all in your own neighborhood! 

“It’s a powerful reminder that a library is not just a building: it’s services, face-to-face interactions and limitless opportunities,” said Tony Cortez, executive director of the library. “At Rockford Public Library our goal is to meet people where they are.”

• $25 will purchase 3 board books for new readers.
• $50 will purchase 3 graphic novels for teens.
• $100 will purchase 6 adult fiction books, including large print books.
• $250 will purchase 6 Science, Technology, Engineerings, Arts, and Math
  (S.T.E.A.M) kits.
• $500 gift will purchase equipment so we may host video gaming and Family Mobile Movie Nights
