Bridging the Gap with Technology!
The Rockford Public Library (RPL) is excited to announce the launch of its innovative DigiLibrary, a mobile digital learning center designed to bring technology, education and resources directly to the community.
The DigiLibrary is made possible by a partnership between Rockford Public Library and SiFi Networks’ Rockford FiberCity®.
Through the generous donation of this state-of-the-art vehicle and supportive technology from SiFi Networks’ Rockford FiberCity®, Rockford Public Library is able to provide the staffing and event development necessary to create sustained impact throughout the city, bringing connectivity to the hands of those that are challenged to connect.
The Rockford Public Library and SiFi Networks’ Rockford FiberCity® are committed to making the DigiLibrary a valuable asset in promoting digital literacy and lifelong learning. We have designed a series of stops with this goal and the needs of this community in mind.
The DigiLibrary focuses on three key aspects of service:
Access to the internet
The DigiLibrary brings Chromebooks and Hot Spots to various locations for public use.
Access to instruction
DigiLibrary staff offer computer classes tailored to the needs of each location.
Access to devices
Community members use our devices during the two-hour stops at each location.
The DigiLibrary Service provides a one-stop shop to address all of these aspects.
