Young Adult Board
The young adult board is made up of teens ages 13 to 18 years old who meet monthly to promote young adult use of the Rockford Public Library.
Member Privileges
Being a member of the Young Adult Board allows you to help in determining the direction RPL will take in serving the teen community. The board has input in the programs, services, books and magazines that Rockford Public Library has for teens. If you feel strongly about what the library should be doing to serve teens, this is your chance to be heard!
Responsibilities
Being a member of the YA board means that you are an ambassador of the library to the teen community. You are committed to attending board meetings and programs for young adults. You promote the library and invite other young adults to library events. Volunteering to be MAX and helping out with youth services programs and in other areas as needed are other responsibilities of the YA board. You will be expected to have positive ideas, be able to listen and work with others, and be willing to help the library. The YA board receives assistance from Advisors on the Library staff.
