The young adult board is made up of teens ages 13 to 18 years
old who promote young adult use of the Rockford Public Library.
Member Privileges:
Being a member of the Young Adult Board allows you to help
in determining the direction RPL will take in serving the
teen community. The Board has input in the programs,
services, books
and magazines that Rockford Public Library provides for
teens. If you feel strongly about what the library should
be doing
to serve young adults, this is your chance to make a difference!
Responsibilities:
Being a member of the YA Board means that you are an ambassador
of the library to the teen community. You must be willing
to attend monthly meetings, promote the library and library
events,
coordinate communication to teens through our My Space
page and newsletter, volunteer at youth services programs
and support
RPL in other areas as needed. Our YA Board members share
their positive ideas, listen and work well with others,
and are willing
to help the library better serve teens in our community.
The YA board receives assistance from library staff Advisors.
