Formed in 1989, the Rockford Public Library Foundation’s mission is to support the Rockford Public Library by raising funds and public awareness about library activities. While our library system is a tax-supported institution, private support is increasingly critical to the library services. The Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) organization and provides a positive voice in the community promoting library activities and purpose, presenting fundraising events, seeking sponsorships, conducting annual fund drives, donor solicitation and major gift giving.
The Foundation’s volunteer board of directors provides opportunities for Rockford and surrounding communities to help support the library’s long range goals and objectives by distributing information, seeking major gifts, conducting annual fund drives, building an endowment and presenting educational programs for the community.
In recent years, your donations to the Rockford Public Library Foundation have helped to fund important programs and ensure that resources are available to the entire Rockford community.
