Two-Day Poetry Event Culminates at Nordlof Center, Saturday, June 20th
Rockford Public Library will host the final stage night of the Rustbelt Regional Poetry Slam Competition on Saturday, June 20th from 5:30 – 10:00 p.m. in the Nordlof Center, J. R. Sullivan Theater, 118 N. Main St. Hundreds of well-known and up-and-coming poets will share their love and passion for poetry as they compete for word dominance.
In addition, from noon to 4:00 p.m. on the 20th, poets will be at the Nordlof Center in the Rehearsal room on the second floor. This time slot will feature more preliminary rounds of competition leading up to the evening’s final competition in the Sullivan Theater.
This two-day poetry and spoken-word festival will start on June 19th at several Rockford businesses with the final stage culminating on June 20th at the Nordlof Center for the Rustbelt title. Final Bout List and list of venues will be available on the Rustbelt Competition in Rockford Facebook page at www.facebook/rustbelt2015rockfordil. While admission to the festival is free, a $5 donation is suggested. All proceeds will benefit local charities.
