Rockford Public Library is pleased to announce that prior to the Board of Trustees meeting on November 24th, 2014, they will hold an open house to introduce Lynn Stainbrook as the new Executive Director.
The public is invited for an informal Meet and Greet from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Nordlof Center. Light refreshments will be served.
Ms. Stainbrook was the director of the Brown County Library in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where she directed the Central Library and eight branch libraries, 130 staff and an annual budget of more than $7 million. Before leading the Brown County Library, Ms. Stainbrook was the executive librarian at the Arlington Heights Library, and Warren Newport Public Library. She holds a master’s degree in library science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is a Janesville Wisconsin native.
“We are very pleased to have Ms. Stainbrook with us. She has quickly set about learning all about the library and our city. We look forward to working with her” said Paul Logli, President of the Board of Trustees.
The Rockford Public Library, founded in 1872 as the second library in Illinois, currently has seven facilities, including the Nordlof Center, Main Library and five Branch Libraries. The mission of the Rockford Public Library is to educate, inform, entertain and culturally enrich the people of our community.
