Cardholders can now renew all physical collection materials for two additional loan periods.
Rockford Public Library is excited to announce that cardholders can now renew all physical collection materials for two additional loan periods. Library cardholders may renew most materials for up to 6 additional weeks if it is not on hold for another patron.
The exception is a renewal on our DVDs. Each renewal will extend the loan period for an additional seven days for each renewal, for a total of 21 days. A $1.00 fine is still charged per day for each DVD returned late. All materials can be renewed at the Main Library or any branch location, via telephone through our automated renewal line at (815) 965-9511 or online through the Catalog. A Personal Identification Number (PIN) is required to access an account online.
“We received feedback from our customers requesting RPL allow materials to be renewed for a longer period of time,” said, Erope Beckum, Circulation Services Manager of Rockford Public Library. “We made this change to accommodate the popular request, while also providing easier access (via phone or Internet) to extend the loan period.”
