The Rockford Public Library is offering a basic self-defense class, conducted by No Joke Martial Arts President Rich Whitenack, on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Do you know how to break a choke hold? Can you strike quickly to push back an attacker and get away? You will learn to develop the mindset and moves for effective self-defense in this fun and interactive session. The program is designed for ages 13 and older. Participants are strongly encouraged to register with a partner to practice the basic self-defense strategies.
This event, free and open to the public, will be held in the Main Library Auditorium, 215 N. Wyman St. (Enter from Mulberry St.) Registration can be made by calling 815-965-7606, press option 5, or through our events calendar at www.rockfordpubliclibrary.org/events.
