The Main Library and its branches will be closed Monday, December 24 and Tuesday, December 25 for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. In addition, all locations will be closed December 31, 2007 and January 1, 2008, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

The Rockford Public Library, founded in 1872 as the second library in Illinois, currently has six facilities, including the Main Library and five Branch Libraries.
