The Main Library and its branches will close at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2007 for staff appreciation. All locations will resume regularly scheduled on hours on Saturday, December 8.

The Rockford Public Library, founded in 1872 as the second library in Illinois, currently has six facilities, including the Main Library and five Branch Libraries.
