RPL On the Waterfront Festival and Labor Day Weekend Hours

Rockford Public Library will be closed Friday, August 31 for staff in-service. In addition, the Main Library, 215 N. Wyman St. will be closed Saturday, September 1 through Monday, September 3 during the On the Waterfront Festival and Labor Day weekend. Branch libraries will be closed Labor Day only. Library customers are encouraged to visit branch libraries on Saturday, September 1 from 10 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. All libraries will resume regularly scheduled hours on Tuesday, September 4.

Main Library fall, winter and spring hours begin Sunday, September 9:

Monday – Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Friday & Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Sunday, 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.

About the Library

The Rockford Public Library, founded in 1872 as the second library in Illinois, currently has six facilities, including the Main Library and five Branch Libraries. The Rockford Public Library’s mission is to enhance community life and development by informing, educating, entertaining, and providing cultural enrichment to all people of all ages by collecting information to address the diverse interests of our dynamic community.
