The Rockford Public Library Foundation will again host its annual fundraising event, the Literary Evening Downtown, at the Main Library on Saturday, April 21st. The event, co-hosted by the RPL Foundation and the Rockford Woman’s Club, brings guests together to enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and lively book discussions. Sixteen local celebrities will lead book discussions this year, and the titles are chosen by the session leader. Tickets are $40 each.
“We always have an interesting variety of books selected for this event,” said Carol Jacobs, President of the Rockford Public Library Foundation. “It’s exciting to see what new titles people are reading and excited about sharing with others. With so many great titles and interesting people leading groups, it’s hard to choose which sessions to attend.”
The Literary Evening Downtown also features a silent auction and “books” designed by local artists. The proceeds benefit the Rockford Public Library Foundation and the Rockford Woman’s Club “Reading Alive” program.
