Rockford Public Library's Main downtown location will close at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, for its staff appreciation ceremony. Branch libraries regularly close at 5:00 p.m. on Fridays. All locations will resume normal service hours on Saturday, December 9.

The Rockford Public Library, founded in 1872 as the second library in Illinois, currently has six facilities, including the Main Library and five Branch Libraries.
