Rockford, IL: The Friends of Rockford Public Library announced that they are accepting applications for the 2011 Friends of Rockford Public Library Scholarship until Friday, November 4, 2011. The scholarship is designed to encourage students currently working or interested in libraries to pursue their MLIS degree.

“This scholarship program is important to the Friends because we understand the value of strong libraries in our community,” said Mary Ann Sarver, Friends Board Member and Chair of the Scholarship Committee. “Providing students with the resources to further their education and knowledge of the library field is a solid investment in our community.”
