Bel Canto Author Ann Patchett to Speak at Montague Branch
In an exciting partnership with Rockford College’s UnCommon
Lives, Rockford Public Library will welcome best-selling author Ann Patchett to
Montague Branch Library for a special presentation. Ms. Patchett will make
an appearance on March 16 at 4:00 p.m. and will discuss her background and her
critically acclaimed book, Bel Canto. Ann Patchett will also speak at 7:00
p.m. at Rockford College’s Maddox Theatre as a part of UnCommon Lives,
Extraordinary Women in the Arts.
Ann Patchett has been called "an elegant and lyrical writer" by
USA Today. It is said by critics that with Bel Canto, Ms. Patchett lives
up to this praise with a work that examines the emotions behind terror,
enrapture, fear and art.
Tickets for both appearances are free and can be reserved by
calling the Rockford Public Library at 965-6731 or the Rockford College box
office at 226-4100.
To celebrate author Ann Patchett’s visit to Rockford, RPL has
scheduled a variety of events centering around the themes of music and
literature. For more information on any of these events, please call
965-6731.
