Description
The Kjellstrom Women's Scholarship Initiative is offered through the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois. To apply, you must complete an online application and submit a packet of additional materials in hard copy by the deadline. See www.cfnil.org. The purpose is to assist women who demonstrate a desire to develop personally and professionally. Scholarships will be awarded to women entering or re-entering the workforce or changing, advancing or enhancing their careers. The review committee will consider educational goals, professional goals, community service, financial need, intended use of scholarship funds, and tireless devotion to the pursuit of higher education despite obstacles.
Who Qualifies
Female resident of the Rockford area who has a high school diploma (or equivalent) and has successfully completed at least three full years of work experience, community service or a combination of both. Applicants with non-traditional backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Recipients of the Athena Award and their families are not eligible to apply.
