These scholarships ($1000 - $2500) are funded by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, through the Community Services Block Grant. A total of $4000 is to be awarded.
Who Qualifies
Applicants reside in Boone or Winnebago County, meet income guidelines, and plan on attending an accredited school in Illinois in the next 6 months. Applicants don't have to be seniors. Scholarships are for post-secondary education and can be used for college or a trade school.
Requirements
Income-eligible, resident of Boone or Winnebago County. The money can be used for things other than tuition and fees, such as books. Submit application, 2-3 letters of reference in sealed envelopes, letter of acceptance from an ILL accredited educational institution, and letter of award from all grants, loans, and other scholarships.
