Returns and Renewals
When your materials are due, you can return them to any RPL location,
regardless of where you checked them out. We have six locations
to choose from. If you have an RPL item that is due but you
aren’t quite done with it, feel free to renew the item:
•
In person at any of RPL’s six locations.
•
Via telephone through our automated renewal line at (815) 965-9511.
•
Online through the “Maximum Access” Catalog
You may renew an item twice as long as it is not on “hold” for
another patron.
Fines
Okay, so you forgot to return an item to the library by the due
date? A fine is charged per day for each item kept after the
due date. (Ask to see a fine schedule for more information
as amounts vary depending on the item type.) We like to think
of fines as “extended use fees”. However, excessive “extended
use fees” may lead to the discontinuation of your library
services.
